14th Young Science Symposium

14th Young Science Symposium

The Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Ciudad Real hosted the 14th edition of the Young Science Symposium between 8 and 10 July. This time the event took place online and young researchers were able to present their lines of work and research. All these works focus on very interesting topics. To name a few: electrochemistry, soil treatment, biochemistry, etc.

This event is an excellent opportunity to bring students closer to research work. A total of 170 researchers from the Albacete, Ciudad Real and Toledo campuses registered for this edition. There were 35 oral presentations and 32 posters covering the different fields studied in this faculty (organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, etc.).

In addition to all these presentations, a few external researchers were invited to participate to provide a more general overview of the current situation of research in Spain, both in public institutions and in private companies.

AGROVIN participated as the sponsor of the 5th edition of the Young Researchers Award. During the discussion, awards ceremony and closing of the event, Ricardo Jurado, AGROVIN’s technical manager, presented one of the most advanced technologies in winemaking with his presentation: “The use of ultrasound in the production of quality wines”.
