CHARACTERISTICS

EUROPOR plates offer a wide range of filter plates with variable porosity ranging from a nominal grade of 0.2 μm to 4 μm, which ensures a high depth turbidity retention capacity and a significant reduction of the microbial population, enabling their use for coarse filtration, for a significant reduction of microbial population of liquid foods or to contribute to the microbiological stability of liquid foods. Plate filtration is often the stage prior to sterilizing membrane filtration or the previous stage of an ultrafiltration process. They exert their filtering effect in the upstream and deep zone of the material structure (static depth filtration).
The quality and preparation of the raw materials used always ensure good clarifying efficiency and high yields. The porosity of these plates is obtained as a result of the mixture of coarse and fine materials, the proportion of which is predetermined for each type of plate.
EUROPOR filter plates have asymmetrical pores: The large pores are located on the inlet side of the filter, the small pores are located on the outlet side, where the material becomes denser.
The depth filtration system offers, by means of EUROPOR filter plates, a number of advantages over other filtration methods:

  • Screen filtration systems are combined with the adsorption effect.
  • The differentiated pore structure, depending on the type of filter, and the maximum inner surface area always ensure good clarifying efficiency and high performance.
